Sara's Page
Sara arrived here July 26, 2005. Sara was injured (we aren't quite sure how) when she had 4 kittens to care for. She was brought to Shelton's Kitten Rescue with both hind legs broken and no other injuries. The vet and staff performed surgery and inserted pins in her legs. Sara raised her kittens with casts on both hind legs. We decided to adopt her as soon as we heard about her. Once her kittens were weaned and she had her spay surgery, we were allowed to bring her home. We had our vet look at her and together we determined that the pins are currently providing stability to her legs. So for now, they stay in. Surgery to remove the pins can come later if she shows any future discomfort. So far so good! Sara is such a loving and sweet cat. Her hair has grown in nicely, she's gained weight, and has settled in very well. She plays with our other young cats - Oscar, Elsa and Bruiser. She LOVES knitting with Mommy. We feel very privileged to have her. Click on the photos for a larger view.
