In
an effort to break the speedsailing record, I looked to left field
and proposed the asymmetric concept. The sails were built on RDM
skinny masts, and a wide sock was fitted to the windward side
only. These sails were impossible to tack, and built specifically
for record hunting. Both world records were set on these designs.
