February 19, 2007 Monthly Meeting PTC holds monthly business meetings the third Monday of every month at 6:30 pm at the Port Angeles Library. Anyone interested is welcome to attend. Peninsula Tennis club Laurel opened the meeting. She bought the Quicken program to produce club invoices and has made up some to send to non paying members. After a time, those who still haven’t paid will be dropped from the membership list. The annual fee for the club trac phone has been renewed for another year. Casi is making up a scholarship application for Sequim and Port Angeles high school tennis players. She and Fran will arrange for them to be given to coaches and players. Laurel suggested posting a copy on the club web site as well. Sometime in March the scholarship committee will get together and rate the applications. The club has approximately $15,000 in all accounts. A more definitive
breakdown will be published at a later date. The club litter pick up along highway 101 must take place in April. A maximum of 12 people can be out at one time. The date picked is April 21st at 9am with tennis to follow. Please let us know if you are interested in this fun project which will be taking place the day before earth day. We still don’t have a director for the Saundra Kent tournament. Anyone interested in being director, co director, or in helping at the tournament please let us know. Fundraising for the Erickson court remodel. First Federal has donated $750 to our cause. We are still talking to Olympic Medical Center about also joining us as a sponsor. Christy is working on a sponsor banner. Laurel is looking for the donation of a storage shed or supplies and funding to construct a storage shed to be placed at the east end of the Erickson courts when they are completed. Hartnagels has offered to donate lumber at cost for the project. Christy and Rich are coming up with a design for a club information poster to be placed at various locations around town. Indoor court update. Bob hasn’t met with the group who were involved in a possible indoor tennis and soccer court which was proposed for the YMCA area. Laurel is talking with an investor group about buying property and building an indoor court which would then be leased to her to operate.
