Yesterdays
Rose
Yesterdays
rose with its colors faded
Among
youthful buds its features jaded
Wilted
petals hang somber and bowed
A
shadowed form of what once was proud
A
passing beauty that’s reached a stage
Like
a passage in a book as we turn a page
An
aroma lingers a sweet fading scent
A
wistful remembrance of an essence spent
It
leaves a legacy that’s never ending
A
time remembered from a life that’s pending
A
flowering bud on a bush unfolds
With
renewal and rebirth from a past that molds
Are
we the rose of a summer past
That
leaves a memory of a shadow cast
From the past
