Winters rose

A bush stands tall, alone and proud

In a garden of weeds it hails

A single rose in winters shroud

Its enduring strength prevails

Un-pruned branches spread wild and free

Spreading grasses entwine that swathe

A landscape bleak with bare debris

That cool currents cleanse and bathe

This splash of color lights the day

A radiant hope for morrows

We watch the flower dance and sway

In its twilight time it borrows

Rebirth in spring will bring about

A tribute to its reflection

Life that loved with strength devout

A creation of perfection

A winters rose
